How to listen to RadioHLR on Alexa

Written by on 13 October 2024

One question I’m constantly being asked is, ‘How do I listen to RadioHLR on Alexa’? In fact, it’s a question I often asked myself because I never seemed to be able to do it. But now I’ve cracked it thanks to our presenter Rhian Williams, who has created a very helpful video on the subject, which I’m hoping to get uploaded as soon as possible.

I am going to also write the instructions down here as some people prefer that, so here we go…

  1. Open your Alexa App
  2. Select MORE from the bottom of the screen
  3. Click on SKILLS AND GAMES
  4. In the search bar, type in LIVE365 (it should be the first one that appears in the search results)
  5. Click on the Live365 link and a blue bar will open which says LAUNCH
  6. Click on that blue bar
  7. You should see a list of the Alexas you have in the house. Pick the one you want to listen to Live365 on (although you can ask for it on any Alexa device you have)
  8. You have to ask Alexa to play it, so you would ask “Alexa, Play Live three sixty five” NOT Play Live three, six, five
  9. Once Live365 has loaded, it will ask you for the station name. Say ‘Play Heckington Living Community Radio’

That’s it!!

The next time you want to listen to the station, just ask ‘Alexa, play Live three sixty five’ Alexa will ask you if you want to continue with the station you last listened to, so you just say YES and there you are. If you have been listening to other stations on Live365, you would obviously say ‘No’ at which point you will be prompted to give the name of the station once again.
