Meet James, our newest presenter

Something a little different is coming to the station… Meet James, the latest addition to our presenting team, whose brand-new show will be called Sinistral — a name that is, quite literally, left of centre. James is left-handed, and his musical tastes follow much the same philosophy!
Forget the charts. Forget the playlists dictated by record companies. Sinistral is all about music that refuses to play by the rules.
James will be bringing you a wonderfully eclectic mix of everything from R&B, punk and dub to thrash metal, indie, dance and rap. The only rule? It mustn’t be commercial. If it has attitude, originality, energy or something interesting to say, James wants to hear it — and he wants you to hear it too.
A big part of Sinistral will be shining a spotlight on local and independent bands, particularly artists from Lincolnshire and James’s home city of Sheffield. Expect to discover music you probably won’t hear anywhere else, alongside plenty of surprises and a presenter who isn’t afraid to take the musical road less travelled.
James is hoping to launch Sinistral in early September, so keep your ears open and watch this space for the official start date. One thing’s for certain: Sinistral won’t be mainstream — and that’s exactly the point.
