We are delighted to welcome Di Peel, one of our regular listeners up in Wakefield, as part of RadioHLR. She has curated a brand new Northern Soul playlist for us which we’re sure you will enjoy. I’ll let Di introduce herself.
“Now I am not that good a northern soul dancer, but what I lack in dancing skills I excel in enthusiasm for the music. I walked into my first experience of northern soul at 16 years of age when I was supposed to be staying overnight at a friend’s house. This became my regular all nighter venue. Decades later I still have a passion for the drama and rhythm of the music and dancing of northern soul. I mastered the shuffle but never did acquire the skills of the back drop and high kicks but that doesn’t matter just as long as we all KEEP THE FAITH!!”
