The HLR New Submissions & Releases Chart
Created on 14 April 2022
Our favourite new submissions and releases
HLR receives dozens of submissions from independent artists and record labels every week. We can’t give them all airplay but we do try to play the best.
All tracks accepted for air play now feature in our interactive HLR New Submissions and Releases Top 50.
This is how the chart works:-
Each week, we’ll listen to every track sent to us and, if we think a track is good enough to warrant air play, we will award it sufficient votes to put it into the Top 50.
We’ll also include what we consider to be the four best submissions each week in our new Sunday night feature ‘The Best or The Rest’. If listeners vote a track “The Best” during the show, then we will add sufficient additional points to put the track into the ‘Top 10’. Artists are welcome to ask their supporters to listen in to the show and to vote!
Best of all, from the moment a track appears in the chart, you can vote to move it up and down the chart by clicking on the arrows beside the track, making the HLR New Submissions and Releases Top 50 a truly listener led chart! The higher the track goes, the more we’ll play it on HLR!
We will feature the entire Top 30 in our monthly submissions chart show (at 8pm on the fourth Tuesday of the month).
Please note that in order to keep the chart fresh, each artist is limited to a maximum of THREE tracks in the chart at any one time. If a fourth track is submitted then their track with the least points will be removed from the chart. We may also award bonus points and subtractions, from time to time, according to feedback from our listeners and to keep the chart as dynamic as possible.
Note to submitters: – HLR welcomes original submissions from new, established, unsigned, signed, local and international artists. If you would like to submit your music for consideration for airplay on HLR, please email your tracks, along with information about yourself/your band and preferably a youtube link to:-
